Introduction:

Within institutions of higher education, academic libraries stand as physical–and at the same time virtual–places for learning. Libraries contribute to learning in many ways: by the intelligent collection and arrangement of resources, through the teaching of how knowledge is organized, and in the creation of environments which faster reading, inquiry, and critical thinking.
